Beside Myself PC Game 2021 review:
A classic horror game with familiar assets. We’ve seen these walls more than once, but in this case, it’s not very frustrating. It looks atmospheric and intimidating.
The game is well done, the storyline allows you to think and imagine possible scenarios. We carefully examine each meter for notes and other items. One way or another, the game pushes you to the correct decision, and there are no difficulties in passing. We run, catch schemata, delve into the plot. It unfolds slowly and leaves no questions at the end, except for one: who sent that email?) The game has 2 finals, which are easy to get. There is no oppressive, overhanging atmosphere followed by BUU. There are too many screamers, both visual and audible. Too much. Almost every minute something yells, jumps out, rushes. At first, it scares, then more infuriates.
A game of horror and correct psychological survival but we find the same graphic elements that many other games of the same type use which becomes boring and above all no longer produces the same effect of surprise and fear.
Pros of Beside Myself:
- The debut project of a domestic developer in the genre of horror.
- It’s hard to say that the developer surprised us with the gameplay, atmosphere, setting … of course not.
- Everything is very standard, and from this, it is not even bad.
- At least the game lacks this newfangled tendency – to turn everything into surrealism, delirium, and try to speculate on open endings.
