While the beautiful graphics and grandiose music create a breathtaking atmosphere, the biting comments of the MARBLE and the slightly idiot / naive manner of Captain Martin make for one or the other laugh. The levels contain everything from easy to solve to complicated jumping maneuvers to timing elements, everything that makes the puzzle and skill heart beat faster. A very successful game that you can play well in between.
Since we are a big fan of puzzle platformers and we liked the screenshots, we took a look at Beam and was not disappointed. The idea of changing light rays with fog is really something new and a lot of fun. Then there are the funny conversations between MARBLE and Martin, which drive us to keep going in order to get the next scrap of conversation. When we started the game was already in a very playable state, so we almost never came across unsolvable levels. And if it did, the levels weren’t even impossible, you just had to try out more … Over time, however, you get used to the logic of the puzzles and get through better. Nevertheless, surprises are always waiting for the player so that the difficulty does not end. On the other hand, it never gets so tricky that you need superhuman skills to get through – all in all, very balanced.
Pros of Beam:
