This game is a walking simulator with a horror taste in which you relive the footage recreated based on the interviews, as if you were the photographer. “Backward Poiesis” is a short horror game produced by a japanese student that recreates footage actually found.

I was contacted by a person who said he had found a video camera by chance, and the production was based on a proposal to recreate the footage recorded on the video camera as a game. The game uses audio from actual interviews and footage recreated based on interviews, depicting the horror based on actual events. Based on the interview with Mr. A, we used UnrealEngine 5, a 3DCG engine also used in film production, to reproduce the quality of the video camera footage down to the texture.

The game allows the viewer to relive the mysterious images left on the video camera from the perspective of the filmmaker.
