This is a single player, “turn-based nomadic tribe management rogue-like” game developed by three people from Unexpected Studio. This is not an RTS, this is not a 4X, this is not survival, this is not a Caesar style optimization / planning game, this is not Faster Than Light, it’s a bit of everything at the same time. You will find plenty of ideas already seen elsewhere, some at the foundations of RTS, 4X, survival games, opti games, Dark Souls like, others rogue-like, all while having other ideas absolutely unique to the game itself, which draws inspiration from a lot of things but is unlike anything else.
Just because it’s inspired doesn’t mean it looks like it and therefore, just because you’re a fan of AoE or Civ or FTL or Darkest Dungeon (or all of them!) Doesn’t mean you will consistently like As Far As The Eye. On the other hand, if you like these types of games, you are potentially apt to like As Far As The Eye.

Pros of As Far As The Eye:
- Gather resources, construct buildings, AoE-style building upgrades, and unlock tribal knowledge to make your journey easier.
- Survival and preparation of rations à la Don’t Starve or Rimworld: no crock pot but a kitchen and / or a bakery allowing to concoct small dishes using recipes made up of different resources.
- Civ or Pharaoh / Caesar-style Optimization: It’s all well and good to put down buildings, gather resources and unlock upgrades, but if it’s not optimized, you won’t get far. Every location and every decision matters.
