The game takes place in a haunted open environment, filled with haunted lands and scattered resources. Your task is to scavenge these resources, such as wood, plants, metal, and rare components, to craft and upgrade your gear.
Your trusty scythe serves as your primary tool for harvesting these resources, as well as a formidable weapon in combat. With each playthrough, a newly dead person becomes the Ankou, bringing their unique profession and its associated items and skills. This allows you to unlock new weapons and abilities as you dispatch demons and progress through the game.
Whether you choose to embody the role of a blacksmith, soldier, apothecary, cook, or any other profession available, each playthrough offers a different gameplay experience. The challenges you face in the haunted lands start with defeating a handful of evil creatures, but they quickly escalate into waves of hundreds of demons, accompanied by powerful bosses.
