Aleph is the first letter of the Hebrew alphabet, and it is generally silent. However, it can be combined with the niqqud (vowels) to make a sound. Unique & powerful mechanics that allow both for clear deductions and clever surprises, expertly crafted puzzles with clear eureka moments and multiple twists, top-tier visual & sound design rarely seen in a block-pusher. Must have for any puzzle lover.
Fantastic puzzle game so far. The mechanics are quite unorthodox but simple to get a hold of, and contain a lot of hidden depth. The puzzles are expertly crafted. Every puzzle presents an interesting wrinkle or new use of the mechanics, and you keep getting surprised and delighted at the complexity that emerges from these simple building blocks. Atmosphere is nice as well.
If you like puzzle games, you’ll want to play this one, full stop. I don’t think I’ve seen such tight puzzle design since Stephen’s Sausage Roll. The mechanics are well thought-out and full of interesting consequences and surprising interactions. And each world introduces new twists that further open up the possibility space. The challenge levels are indeed challenging, and solving each one is a satisfying revelation that deepens your understanding of the mechanics.
