Akane is an Arena Arcade-Slash where you kill your enemies with only 1 hit. The objective of the game is simple, to kill as many enemies as possible. This is a really great arcade-like game for a really low price. What makes it special is how you feel while playing. There is only one level and a few types of enemies, but the game’s intense action and stylish visuals give you the feeling of being a total badass, slicing through waves of enemies with ease. The game’s difficulty curve is steep, but never unfair, rewarding players who take the time to master its mechanics. Highly recommended.

Akane is simple and elegant. The mechanics are easy to learn and only slightly difficult to master, imo. I am not great at these arcade style games but managed to complete the game on my own after some intense try-and-fails. The story, understandably, is vague and kinda short, but what is there is very interesting. Animation is great, as are the sfx. The soundtrack is really fun while playing but not worth buying separately unless both game and soundtrack are on sale.
