This is a single-player planning and executives simulation placed at the height of the bloody gladiatorial games in old Rome.
There are three shots to choose from, each with its value in action points. Pros of Age of Gladiators II Rome:
- This is the second version of a good game. The mechanics and way of playing are still very similar to the original Age of Gladiators: you hire scouts, trainers, gladiator doctors and recruits, train them, weapons and then send them to the arena when there is combat.
- The big change and addition are the overall graphics enhancement and turn-based combat in a 3D amphitheater. Although you can choose to see the bouts without participating or simply have the result.
- When fighting, on your turn you have action points that you spend until zero. Each gladiator comes with his own, which you can increase with training, buying potions, or summoning their increase in full combat (with a high failure rate). Some have few action points, but are strong when hitting or resistant when receiving. Therefore, not everything depends on the action points, but they are very important.
- You don’t have to spend all the points each turn, the ones you don’t spend are added to your block percentage on the next turn instead: If you don’t use 2 points, your block increases by 2%.
