An intriguing fusion of turn-based combat from JRPGs and classic roguelikes can be found in Dungeons of Voidria. Even though the majority of the mechanics follow the rules of typical roguelikes.
Dungeons of Voidria is a roguelite dungeon crawler that features a distinct skill-queuing turn-based combat system. Explore shifting dungeons, gather loot and conquer challenging enemies as you retrieve fragments to restore the shattered Heart of the void. Discover 200+ unique skills. 150+ trinkets to augment your strategies. 40+ spells for different situations. 50+ unique enemies with evolving abilities. 30+ items for you to find and craft.
This is an extremely satisfying, well polished and mechanically tidy little game with tons of potential and an engaging Dev who seems to listen to feedback, which all comes together for a great recipe. RNG things like traps aren’t game enders, but rather minor inconveniences that only make the game slightly harder and don’t ruin your fun whatsoever, which is a major plus for me. Can’t stand games that punish you for being unlucky with some arbitrary mechanic added purely to ♥♥♥♥ on the player.
It has non of the bloat or confusion a lot of other Rogue-likes tend to have when it comes to menus, systems or skills. It’s straight forward and tells you what you need to know. (apart from an extremely few missing tooltips on debuffs, excused since early access). Very charming style, with lots of potential for improvement in terms of enemy and item variation, though there is already more than enough to get started!
