HELLDIVERS is a hardcore, cooperative, twin-stick shooter. This game is meant to be played around one TV set, with controllers and perhaps some beverage. Most of the entertainment value of this game lies within its ability to “generate chaotic moments”. Every bit of Helldivers wants you to go ransacking some enemy planet and then suddenly all hell breaks loose: there’s an alert and enemies start swarming you without end. You throw grenades at your friends, you yell your comrades to duck as your auto-minigun opens fire over them, you catch fire, someone drives off the cliff, you die with reinforcement stratagem in your hand: and suddenly everyone is back. This is a social game.

Almost everything about this game is fantastic. Weapon design. Enemy design. Implementation of the multiplayer system and stratagem system. Visual style. It takes its interesting concept and just soars. That said, you might get occasionally janked by a weird enemy spawn, but that just adds to the unpredictability of your enemy.
