If you liked a legionary’s life, but wanted a bit more interactivity, then this is the game for you. A good game with an interesting plot, well-written characters, and nice graphics.
The combat is much like a legionary’s life, but you can pick your weapon and train your skill in it, your choices matter a whole lot more than just +1 troop opinion. As of right now, it is very difficult, but if that’s not your thing an easy mode is being added in the next update, and the developers all seem very passionate and responsive about it.
Gameplay is as difficult as the early stages of a Rogue-like, but without any carryover progression between failures. You’ll likely die (and therefore lose the game) several times before you start figuring out how to make a proper build. And then you’ll make the wrong quest choices, and die because the wrong fork doesn’t give you the equipment you need to progress, or presents a challenge that’s almost impossible to overcome, killing you in the process. Reloading a save isn’t satisfying, so you’ll start over again for another “run”, only to make good decisions but get fatal RNG.
A hybrid cross between a “Choose Your Adventure” and a single character, a turn-based battler.
